Danni Wyatt-Hodge made her England debut in 2010 and has scored over 5,000 runs for her country. Batter Danni Wyatt-Hodge says she is "living the dream" following the birth of her first child and playing a starring role in England's perfect start to the T20 World Cup.
Stoke-born Wyatt-Hodge, who is England's record appearance-maker in T20 internationals, struck a superb unbeaten century in the opening-game win over Sri Lanka at Edgbaston 12 days ago. That came three weeks after her wife, Georgie, gave birth to Daisy with Wyatt-Hodge celebrating both her half-century and ton by rocking her bat like a cradle.
"My wife Georgie said if I got a 50 then I have to do the cradle for Daisy," Wyatt-Hodge told BBC Radio Stoke. "I really wanted that 50, I was like 'I have to do it', So I got the 50, did the cradle and then managed to get the 100 as well. So did a double cradle."
"All my family from Stoke were there as well which made it even more special. It's the stuff of dreams, isn't it? To score 100 in a World Cup match in front of your family, at Edgbaston in front of, I think, 16,000 people. So yeah, it was a very, very special night and what a great start to the tournament."
"I think it's one of those moments where I'll look back in a few years time and be like 'Wow I did that' but I've obviously got a lot going on at the minute with the newborn and looking after her."

While baby Daisy is her main focus, Wyatt-Hodge says balancing being a new mum with trying to score more 'Mummy hundreds', is serving as inspiration. "She's my main priority and then obviously making sure I'm training really hard and preparing well for each game in the World Cup and making sure that I'm performing well because obviously I want to contribute to helping us win and ultimately win the World Cup at Lord's," she said. "That would be the stuff of dreams."
"People tell you things, don't they, when you've got a kid on the way, but you don't actually know how it feels until you're actually in that moment. And when they lifted her up, and I was just like 'wow, she is incredible', and I still can't believe that she's our daughter. She's so loved and she loves the women's cricket."
England are hoping to win the T20 World Cup for the second time, having triumphed in the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2009, beating New Zealand at Lord's. As they chase a repeat at the home of cricket, Wyatt-Hodge says her new addition to her family has helped bring some perspective amid all the pressure and expectation.
"Cricket's a funny game, mentally? You can really overthink things. So I think it's really important that we have an escape," she said. "A lot of people love coming over to give Daisy a cuddle, [and get] a bit of perspective. It's really nice, and gives me and George a bit of a rest. So yeah, we're living the dream."
